71: Into the Fire (2010)
The film is based on a true story of a group of 71 undertrained and under gunned student-soldiers of South Korea during the Korean War, who was mostly killed on August 11, 1950, during the Battle of P’ohang-dong. For 11 hours, they defended P’ohang-dong girls’ middle school, a strategic point for safeguarding the Nakdong River, from an attack by overwhelming North Korean forces. These 71 teenagers, most of whom had never shot a gun before, managed to hold out against the advancing North Korean army for 11 hours. Their heroic defense of the area was actually a turning point in the Korean War. 71: Into the Fire tells the story of these student-soldiers over the course of that fateful day.
Ace Attorney (2012)
With the storyline based primarily on the first game in the Ace Attorney series (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney), the series’ signature style is combined with a courtroom drama. Rookie defense attorney Phoenix Wright strives to protect his clients in various murder trials, including the death of his mentor, Mia Fey and the accusation of rival prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth. Wright’s greatest ally is Mia’s younger sister Maya Fey, a spirit medium whose body is possessed by Mia to communicate with him. Wright is later given the task of solving the DL-6 case, a murder that has not been solved for 15 years. He will also go against Manfred von Karma, a prosecuting attorney who has not lost a case in 40 years. Sci-fi elements are also used, such as characters bringing up holographic images of evidence during trials.
Architect 101 (2012)
35-year-old architect Seung-Min receives a visit at his office from a woman. Seung-Min doesn’t recognize the woman at first, but then realizes the woman is Seo-Yeon. Seo-Yeon is his first love, but he hasn’t seen her since his freshman year in college. Seo-Yeon now has a request. She wants to hire Seung-Min to rebuild her home on Jeju Island. 15 years ago, Seung-Min is a naive young man beginning his architecture studies in college. He first meets Seo-Yeon in his Architecture 101 class. As they work on a class project together, Seung-Min and Seo-Yeon begin to fall in love. Back to the present day, Seung-Min is hesitant to take Seo-Yeon’s job offer. Seo-Yeon persists and even goes to his boss with her wish. Seung-Min now has no choice, but to take on Seo-Yeon’s home project. Old memories of love and heartbreak will soon resurface, as they find themselves at different junctions in their lives.
Balala the Fairies: Live Action (2013)

Fine, Totally Fine (2008)

Based on a true story, “GLove,” tells the story of a baseball team whose members are all hearing-impaired. Kim Sang-nam, a hot-tempered former professional baseball player, is sent to the countryside to coach a team of hearing-impaired players in order to avoid media coverage of his recent involvement in an assault case. At first, Kim has a difficult time imagining how he can teach baseball to a group of boys who can’t hear, but as he spends time with them he starts to believe that they can play the game. Motivated, Kim decides to help them prepare for the nationals.
Hotel Deluxe (2013)

Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013)
The film is a prequel of sorts and follows do-gooder demon hunter Tang Sanzang as he tries and fails to lull the evil out of the demons via a Buddha nursery rhyme book. Enter Bai Gu Jing, a rough-and-ready but tired demon hunter who helps him out more times than one. Happenstance leads to her falling for him, but he denotes this sort of love seeking instead to attain higher understanding in Buddha’s embrace. He travels to the five-finger mountain to meet the Monkey King and learn his secrets, but the Monkey King has another agenda entirely as Tang is put to the test and his faiths and beliefs questioned.
Liar Game: The Final Stage (2010)

Usagi Drop (2011)

At the funeral the attendees learn that Daikichi’s grandfather bore an illegitimate daughter with an unknown mother. The girl’s name is Rin and she is just six years old. Everybody in Daikichi’s family looks at the girl as an embarrassment and wants no part of her. Daikichi, annoyed by his family’s attitude, decides to raise Rin by himself. Daikichi has no experience in raising a child. He soon learns the difficulties in raising a child as a single parent.
